Locations & Directions

For our group classes, 1-2-1s and workshops we are very fortunate to have 3 wonderful venues.  Our outdoor venues are in Carleen and St Just and our indoor venue is in Carbis Bay scout hut.

Please note: there are no toilet facilities at our Carleen & St Just training fields.

As we know, finding rural locations can be tricky even when using sat nav on our devices and so we strongly recommend that you use What 3 Words.

"What 3 Words" is a map app that is a really easy way to find and share locations.  They have divided the world into 3 metre squares and each square has been given a unique combination of 3 words.

You can download the what3words app directly to your phone from your app store or visit What 3 Words  HERE

Take the A3074 from Hayle towards St Ives.  Go through Lelant, past the "Badger" pub.  Keep going and head up the hill, past the small crossroads, past "John Becks Fish & Chip Shop" on your right, past the cemetery on your left.  You now approach a staggered cross roads, take the right turn down "Porthrepta Road". (if you go over the pelican crossing, you've gone too far).  About 200 metres down this road there is a large Church on your left.  You need to turn left after this Church.  Then take the first left into a car park.  You will see the Scout Hall right in front of you in the top left hand corner of the car park.  If you park next to the entrance gate and leave a note in your car saying "Scouts", you won't have to "Pay & Display"!

Post Code: TR19 7HA

Directions:
From the A30 skirting around Penzance, follow the A3071 towards St Just. When you reach the outskirts of the town, continue until the road opens out into the Market Square. You will see a Warrens bakers and the Kings Arms pub in the far corner. Church Street runs between the two and continue alongside the church.

Continue down Church Street, you will see a large house in front of you and it looks like a dead end, but carry on down and you will find the road opens out in to a small square - Venton East Square. You will see a stile and a metal gate immediately to your right - go into this field and then immediate right through a double wooden gate (see picture below - you will see a sign on the gate about dog training). Go through the gate and follow the short path around to the stables and training area.

If you are coming for a 1 to 1 drive right down to us and I will show you where to park.

If you are coming for a class, during the wetter months (Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb & Mar) please can you park in the free town car park unless specifically advised otherwise.  As you are coming into town, turn left before the Co-op and, follow the road for a hundred yards or so, and park in the main town car park then walk back to the Market Square. You will see a Warrens bakers and the Kings Arms pub in the far corner. Walk down the road (Church Street) between the two and continue alongside the church.  Once the ground dries out you are welcome to park in the training area.

1. From Godolphin Cross carry straight on until you enter Carleen.  Once you see the Carleen village sign take the first LEFT (it is signposted to Polladras).  Follow that road for about 1 mile, our training field is after the last house on the left with a 5 bar wooden gate - just before the 'end of speed limit' sign.

2. From Helston.  Turn right on onto the B3303 towards Hayle.  Take the 2nd left onto Poldown Rd towards Carleen.  Once you're in Carleen take the 2nd right turn towards Polladras (there’s a house on the corner with a white wall with Post Box Corner painted on it). Follow that road for about 1 mile, our training field is after the last house on the left with a 5 bar wooden gate - just before the 'end of speed limit' sign.

3. From Breage. Follow signs to Carleen, as you come into the village you will see the village hall on your right.  Take the sharp right hand turn straight after the village hall.  Go all the way to the cross roads and go straight over towards Polladras. Follow that road for about 1 mile, our training field is after the last house on the left with a 5 bar wooden gate - just before the 'end of speed limit' sign.

4. From Camborne drive towards Nancegollan.  Take the right hand turn to Carleen in the middle of Nancegollan.  Follow that road until the crossroads and go straight over.  Then take the first left, then first right, carry on down that lane until you see the first house on your right, the entrance to the field is just before that house on your right hand side.

(Now do you see why I strongly recommend What 3 Words!!)
