Puppy training at Love Your Paws has never been about ticking boxes. It’s always been about helping young dogs grow into themselves with confidence, optimism and resilience. For eight years, our Puppy Paws programme was at the heart of this. It was always popular, always fully booked, and supported countless families. But over time, we realised that the traditional puppy class model wasn’t the best way to do what we believe in most: helping puppies feel safe, understood, and given the space to learn about the world in a way that makes sense to them.

That’s why we no longer run Puppy Paws. Instead, we’ve created a new approach that reflects what we now know matters most.

What we offer puppies now

​

🐾 Puppy Workshops – fun, scent-based sessions designed especially for young dogs.

🐾 Track n’ Trail – introducing puppies to following human scent, building focus and independence.

🐾 Foundation Scent Workshops (Kong or Catnip) – teaching puppies how to use their incredible noses to problem-solve and grow in confidence.

🐾 Mooch n’ Mingle – gentle, social walks with time for connection and conversation.

For general life skills training and ongoing support, all puppies (and their people) are welcomed into Paws 4 Four, our online group. This is where you’ll find guidance for everyday challenges, from lead walking and recall to calmness at home, plus the accountability and support to keep moving forward.

Why scent is at the heart of it all

We believe the best way to understand a puppy is through their nose. Smell is how dogs make sense of the world, and by giving them opportunities to use it, we give them agency, confidence and the ability to engage in natural dog activities. Scent work isn’t just fun. It helps build resilience, optimism and trust. It deepens your relationship, because you begin to see the world from your puppy’s perspective. It creates a meaningful life for your dog — one based on understanding rather than simply teaching “behaviours.”
